Marathi Vidnyan Parishad is a non-profit organisation, working in the field of science popularisation since 1966. The organization is headed by eminent scientist Prof. J.B. Joshi, who is the former Director of the Institute of Chemical Technology (Mumbai). One of the main activities of Parishad is to develop an interest in research among college students. To achieve this, Parishad organizes Science Research Contest every year. The contestants have to submit a research project, carried out in any of the branches of science or engineering, including mathematics. The three best projects are awarded prizes of Rs. 12,000/- each. If an award-winning project is carried out under the guidance of an expert, the latter is also felicitated with a special award of Rs. 2,000. College students from the state of Maharashtra and Goa, as well as those from Vadodara district in Gujrat and Belagavi district in Karnataka can participate in the contest. There is no entry fee for participation. The last date for application is *December, 25, 2022*.
