We need to re-imagine the education and industry relationship to create talent that is ready for the future. This collaboration cannot be a side activity of placements; it has to be at the heart of how students learn. Schools play a vital role in nurturing curiosity, discipline and independent thinking. Higher education must then build on this with applied learning, interdisciplinary exposure and real-world problem solving.

Industry, on the other hand, needs to move from being a consumer of talent to becoming an active contributor to its development through curriculum inputs, meaningful engagement and practical exposure. When these three elements are seamlessly aligned, the shift is from qualification to capability. Therein lies true readiness. We need to focus on creating individuals who are lifelong learners – people who can learn, unlearn, relearn and adapt. This flexibility is vital to thrive and make meaningful contributions in a rapidly changing world.
